When does the owner get paid?

Earnings are automatically released 24 hours after the item is returned (assuming no damage report). Funds arrive in your bank in 2–3 business days.

What if the item is damaged?

Both sides take photos at pickup and return, so there’s a clear record of the item’s condition. Under our Terms, renters are responsible for damage or loss during the rental, normal wear excepted. The owner has a damage review window after return (currently 24 hours) to report anything. hayyoh doesn’t collect a deposit, and if the two of you can’t agree, the dispute goes through our resolution process.

Why do I need ID verification?

Every renter verifies their ID before they can book. Owners who turn on damage protection verify too. It cuts theft, fraud, and no-shows. It's a one-time step using Stripe's secure identity product.

Can I cancel my booking?

Accepted Answer

If your rental starts more than 5 days away, you can cancel for a full refund. Within 5 days of pickup, the charge is non-refundable (this protects owners who turned down other bookings for yours).
